Kerrie Rules Columbus

Kerrie is running Excellent theses days and doing very well.. An extremely fast 8 inch corgi with an experienced handler in Ruth Miller.. It is fun to watch the little check in's Kerrie has with Ruth as she does the course... Those slight little head turns between obstacles lets her know she is going the right way.. Here they are with their 2 jumpers runs in Columbus.. They just make it look so darn easy...

Classes begin

Classes began this week and that is always exciting... Lots of new friends to be made and lots of old friends coming back to further their training.  As old students move into therapy and agility classes, new students start on their canine training adventure.

Good Things and Bad things

Wesson showed a lot of good things in his Jumpers runs.  He remains very willing to work away from me and his reading my crosses continues to improve.  Tight courses and tight segments continue to demotivate him and he needs to pick up his speed especially at the start and at the weaves..  He remains happy and willing work but most of all he seems to enjoy a good run.. Tho we are struggling a little in open he still remains very positive and he show a lot of potential.. Here is his 2 jumper runs....

Laura Still Has It

Sunday May 8 found Laura and I in Columbus at the Columbus all breed agility trial... Laura pretty much retired after the Nationals in December but I still bring her out to run occassionally just for fun and just to keep her in shape... She enjoys going and doesn't like the idea of Wesson going and her not... So as long as she wants to go and enjoys the travel and the shows she will be part of the tea... Generally at the show she likes to lay infront of her crate and take in the goings on... On this day she was entered in Jumpers as this event gets her up and going and the judge is known for wide open running courses.. Well Laura did not disappoint running open preferred at 20 inches against a field of 6 she finished first and covered a little over 4 yards a sec... not bad for a 9 year old Bouvier... Once again Miss Laura showed everyone she isn't quite done yet.... 1 Day....1 Event...1 First Place Ribbon...

Wesson's Standard Runs

Things do not always go as planned but in even non qualifying runs you can find some good things happening. Wesson ran 4x this weekend without qualifying but all was not lost. First of all, he loves contacts and went through novice very quickly due to the fact he has excellent contacts. Now that he is in Open he does not even want to get near them. In fact he avoids the contact obstacles like the plague, go figure!
In the first run he expressed to me his sudden dislike for the obstacles. On his second standard run we had a little chat at each obstacle before he decided to do it. I hope you enjoy viewing my dilemma:)
