Fun Stuff

My infatuation with Bluebirds continues as the 2nd brood of the summer arrived in late July.

3 little ones and 1 still in the oven and Mom and Dad did a great job keeping the area clean...

 

August 15th and the 4 little ones are doing well . I suspect they will be off on their own this week sometime and I hope to catch their departure...

A long Summer

Well it has been a long summer... Only business, no trials, very little training and almost a complete turnover in staff (thank you Pam and Ron for your continuing on with us.)
Classes start the end of the month and many changes come with them. With only 2 trainers (myself and Ron) I had to cut down to 6 classes 3 obedience and 3 agility.  I realize this is a far cry from the 14 we have be running and a lot of people are going to be upset but it is the best I could do on the short notice.  finding the quality of trainer I am looking for is becoming a monstrous task and the cupboard remains bare... So it does not look like the schedule will change anytime soon.

As always our training slows down in the summer time as most of our students are vacationing or transporting kids who are vacationing... But Things are still hopping around the kennel.. We are fortunate again this year to be able to watch our Bluebird family....

When Classes end I always go thru withdrawal as my evenings are suddenly open and the Training Facility is not calling me... Summer has set in and the manner summer chores are instead beckoning me... Issy and Cindy tore up the courses at Dayton Dog Agility event attaining 3 double Q's with 3 first place runs, 2 second place runs and 1 forth place run all at the Masters level... Truly a weekend to remember...

Becky and Maddie will be running in the Challenges Run .. They start their walk thru at 1PM The posted a 2PM start time

Ruth and Cari are in the finals for the 8 inch dogs I think that will be going off around 4PM

AKC Nationals update

Sorry no pictures but a quick update.. As we roll into day 3 Our two Little dogs Cari and Maddie both are sitting in 5th place in their respective jump heights.. Cari at 8' and Maddie at 4 ".. Very exciting..
Ponto had a miss que and took a wrong jump and dropped out of the top dogs.. but he completed the course correcting his mistake and remains in the running..
Miss Issy has developed a weave pole issue and has given Cindy fits.. Miss reliable in the weaves has become unreliable.. I am sure Cindy will fix the problem today and get back on track..
So proud of our 3 entries...

A Nationals Update

After 2 days of running We have some good news
Maddie and Becky took a 1St place in The opening event "Time To Beat" not only did she win $50 but this qualifies her for the Clean Run Challengers event on Sunday. As this is a warm up event it does not count in the championship placements..
Today she ran in jumpers and finished 5th so for the Championship event she is sitting in 5th place after the first event.... With 2 more events to go Standard and hybrid

I am happy to announce that Maureen's English Angora "Big Times Violet" won Best in Show at the Southwestern Ohio Rabbit Breeder's Association rabbit show in Xenia, Ohio this past Sunday..  I was competing in Zanesville but made it back in time to witness the crowning.. This is one of the bigger shows in the area...
