Canine Good Citizen

Each session we try to have a canine good citizen class... An American Kennel Club sponsored  program... Hard work and dedication made these dogs and handlers better canine citizens... I am happy to say all are going on in their training....Knowing where they all started and looking at them today, just makes you want to smile...

Session 2

With teaching or taking a class every night it is tough to get the true class action shots, but I promise to try my best next week and get something from every day..
Filling in on Tuesday I was able get a couple of nice photo ops.

Good - Bad - Ugly

Unfortunately there is no good this weekend.  Wesson and I travelled to Zanesville for the Parkersburg Obedience Club's event... The diamond of  2012 has turned into the scorn of 2013 as we continue to not only not qualify but not even get close to running a course... As  the saying goes I am happy there were no tall bridges to cross on the way home as I might of considered jumping off one of them.. Still not sure what is going on as the boy practices well but seems to lose it all at show time..

THE GOOD

Sorry nothing to report here

The Bad

This was Open Jumpers

THE UGLY

This was an open Fast run and yes he goes over only 3 jumps before jumping the finish line and stopping the run....

Zoe

Sadly, our 19 year old office cat Zoe passed away today.  Zoe was a fixture in the office for all these years and was actually part of the inventory list from the previous owners 15 years ago.  This was not to imply that Zoe was 'owned' as she was a cat of her own destiny.  She was quite fond of herself and less fond of, well, everyone and everything else.  She had catitude and we will definitely miss her presence at Big Times.

Long Time No Write

It has been too long since my last entry... A whole session of training classes have come and gone... The second session starts tomorrow... And the Wesson dog and handler are in a funk... 2013 has started off with many challenges... Lost an instructor which meant I was teaching every night  which left little time for updating my blog... Lost kennel help,  replaced kennel help and found out yesterday was  our replacements last day... Seems the job was too much, didn't like getting up early.. Funny no buddy wants to work these days no matter what the pay.. That will be my last HS student.. I will avoid them like the plague..
And to make matters even worse, Wesson has started 2013 in a funk.. Suddenly he is not attentive, seems afraid of the judges ( male or female) and generally frightened in the ring... I have gotten avoidance signals, fear signals and general discontent.. what is confusing is that this was a dog 30 or so days ago that seemed to be really enjoying himself and running in the ring.. General consensus be happy, have fun and enjoy the moment.. easily said... hard to do when all your work just got flushed down the crapper and you do not know why or how...
Just so you know you are not the only one who has training issues here is Mr. Wesson.

Springfield Run

Session 2 starts tomorrow night... looking forward to starting with a fresh group and it usually helps me forget my training problems which I generally have many.. Hoping this funk Wesson and I are in is short and sweet and over soon...
